Brandon, MB — September 24, 2025 – The Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) Foundation is proud to announce a generous donation of $100 000 from Chemtrade Logistics, a valued Brandon business committed to supporting our region’s health care.
This major gift will be directed to the BRHC Foundation’s capital campaign, A Foundation for Care, in support of the BRHC’s new Critical Care Centre. This expansion will feature a new 16-bed Intensive Care Unit, which will include individual ICU rooms, rather than a shared area, to improve the patient & family experience. It will also include 30 higher acuity medical beds to support patients requiring specialized care, and an outdoor courtyard for families and patients to have respite from stress, reduce anxiety, and enhance the overall patient experience. This new building will also include state-of-the-art equipment and technology to enhance treatment outcomes.
The donation marks one of the largest contributions received this year and will make a lasting impact region-wide, with Brandon having the only Intensive Care Unit between Winnipeg and Regina on the Trans-Canada highway.
“We are incredibly grateful to Chemtrade for their commitment to our mission,” said Stacy Senkbeil, BRHC Foundation Board Chair. “Their support helps us continue our work in enhancing care and community impact at the BRHC, and it sends a strong message about the power of local partnerships.”
Chemtrade Logistics has a long history of giving back to the Brandon Regional Health Centre. This latest contribution reflects their ongoing dedication to making a positive difference in the community.
“Chemtrade – Brandon plant has had different ownership throughout the years, including Can-Oxy, Nexan, and Canexus, but we have always looked for different ways to help support the community that we operate in. We have been long time supporters of the BRHC and recently found out from Jessica that the new Critical Care Center needed support, to raise enough funds to finish off the project. Our staff, our families and community members all rely on this care when in need, so it was an easy decision for us. We are very excited to help the capital campaign reach its goal and look forward to the great care that this center will provide. We hope this also gets some other business’s thinking and reaching out to the Foundation, to see how they can help as well.”
